Do you remember what festivals look like where you come from, King?

Not yet, unfortunately. I haven't really taken any memories in a while.

Not entirely.

[ There's a thoughtful pause as they absently work through the motions of dancing ]

I've been thinking about what several people have told me, as well as... what I need to do in order to go forward without regrets.

[dragonheartedgirl]

[ she's silent for a moment while she considers this. ]

... Your past is important to you, though, isn't it?

[puzzlekeeper]

It is, yes.

That's why... I haven't really decided yet.

[ she's silent again. and then. ]

... I know that I told you I didn't think you should take anymore memories, but... I think I was wrong. Even if it's hard for you, and even if there's a lot of pain along the way.... that doesn't mean that it's right for you to be forced to miss the important things if you want to keep reaching for them.

[ He gives her hand a reassuring squeeze. ]

No, you weren't entirely wrong. There are more than a few negatives to consider. Remembering the past is important to me, but the past can be painful. And... learning about a life you can't go back to even more so.

[dragonheartedgirl]

That's true. However... even if you can't go back to them, and even if it hurts.... there's value in the people and the things that we've loved and lost. At least--I'd like to believe so.

[puzzlekeeper]

I'd like to believe so too.

That's why I've just been - trapped by indecision, I guess.

I don't envy you. That's a horrible and difficult decision to have to make.

Do you think you'll regret it? If you never know?

[ There's a pause, and then he sighs ]

Yes, I do.

[dragonheartedgirl]

[ She squeezes his hand. ]

Then I think you should live and know yourself fully--without regrets. We'll be here for whatever that might mean.
